Terma Hex Designer Radiator | PoshRads

Are you on the hunt for a new radiator? It could be so much more than a hunk of metal on your wall. In addition to simply distributing heat, our designer radiators can also add to the feel and character of the room that they are in.

We stock a huge selection of radiators, ranging from flat panel designs for those who prefer a minimalist look, to the absolute ultimate in feature radiators.

Terma Hex Wall Art Radiator

If you’re looking for the latter, may we suggest the Terma Hex. It’s one of our most popular products, and it’s easy to see why. The honeycomb design reflects many structures in nature, from snowflakes right through to the structure of molecules. Even honeycombs themselves match the structure of this unusual radiator, making it appear more like a piece of stunning wall art!

The points where the hexagons break can even be used as hangers for wet clothes or towels.

If you fancy this as a talking point in your home, COVID has been kind to you for once! This, along with many of our other radiators, are well stocked at the moment, due to the recent opportunity to replenish our supplies.

Matching radiator accessories

The Terma Hex comes in two sizes, either 1700mm by 573mm or 1200mm by 486mm. You can choose from a black matt finish, or bright copper if you’re into more of a retro look. Alternatively, you can even get the Terma Hex on factory order in absolutely any colour for no extra charge.

Matching Terma valves are available for this product, with both straight and angled options. You can choose to have a left hand or right hand version, as this will determine which side the thermostatic control sits on. The manufacturer recommends that you place the controls on the same side as the water feed.

PoshRads also supply pipe masking sets, to ensure that your new radiator blends seamlessly into your home, without any unsightly pipes on display.

No idea whether you need straight or angled valves? Unsure whether you need a left or a right hand version? Just give us a call and our helpful staff will help to guide you through your options.

The perfect time for home improvements.

“Oh God, not another Covid blog!” I hear you cry. Not quite, more about the opportunity it’s given us to get on with home improvements!

If you’re sick of the doom and gloom of recent times, turn that frown upside down, as this is a positive post.

Throughout lockdown, tradesmen have been allowed to carry out maintenance work in people’s houses, as long as the residents weren’t showing COVID symptoms. However, folks were reluctant to allow others into their homes in case they had the dreaded lurgy!

Since the government have relaxed guidelines, people are now much more comfortable to allow family, friends and tradesmen into their homes.

More time and money for home improvements

If you’re still working from home, now is a great time to crack on with those home improvements that you’ve been meaning to get around to.

Maybe your travel provider has cancelled your dream holiday (gutted!) and you’re wondering what to do with the money you’ve been refunded.

If your company has put you on furlough, and you have actually completed Netflix, don’t sit there twiddling your thumbs. Instead, crack on with some of these top tips for keeping your mind occupied and improving your home. I mean if you’re going to be stuck in your house for any length of time, you might as well make it look nice!

Top tips for keeping busy and improving your home

  • Walls looking a bit grubby? Grab that paintbrush and do some touching up.
  • Get the weeding done. It’s good exercise, keeps you busy and makes your house look better all in one. Boom!
  • Do one cupboard, drawer or wardrobe each day, and it won’t seem like such a massive task. Bag up anything you don’t need and donate it to charity.
  • Put up some shelves. This goes well with decluttering. You’ll have somewhere to put all those bits that you’ve discovered!
  • Re-paint your front doors. Instantly smarter house!
  • Update your radiators. Old, clunky radiators with peeling paint? Beautiful designer radiators will bring a massive aesthetic improvement to your home.

Customer service can so often take a back seat to the daily demands of running a company. Here are the reasons why we think that great customer service should be the number one priority of any business.

Our Excellent Customer Service:

Retains Customers

Keeping our customers loyal to PoshRads is much less expensive than it is to find new ones. Studies have shown that customers who feel that a business is trustworthy are a whopping 60 to 70 percent more likely to return to make further purchases. We will walk you through every step of the process of buying your new radiator, as well as the aftercare, including any concerns you may have after purchasing from us.

Provides Value

We aim to provide excellent value for money, both in our designer radiators, and in all dealings with our customers. Any good customer service program should focus on treating its customers well. PoshRads do this by answering your questions thoroughly, being courteous and friendly, and exceeding your expectations in all communications with us. This approach helps us to engage with our customers and build strong relationships with them.

Reduces Employee Turnover

Employees want to work for companies that appreciate their workers, encourage innovation and treat their customers fairly. People who work for an employer that provides excellent customer service are much more engaged in their work, and tend to stick with the company through any challenges that the business may face.

Prevents Business Failure

The majority of UK businesses fail within the first three years. One of the key reasons for this is poor customer service. Buyers quickly get frustrated with problems that are not addressed, with the main issue being poor communication. Therefore, great communication equals happier customers, leading to a thriving business.

And finally…

Great Customer Service Creates Endorsements

Happy customers provide positive endorsements and online reviews, which will help a business to strengthen their brand. Research shows that 97 percent of customers will go on to tell other people about an excellent experience. Since many people make purchasing decisions based on recommendations from friends or family, it makes sense to keep our customers happy.

Have a Cosy Christmas with our Top Tips for Efficient Radiators.

Winter is here and it’s time to get snuggled up on the sofa with a good film and a hot toddy. It can be very tempting to reach for the thermostat when you’re a bit chilly, but there are lots of things that you can do to stay cosy whilst saving money and energy at home.

Before you start wearing several jumpers around the house just to stay warm, here are our top four seasonal tips for you.

  1. If your radiators are only getting hot at the bottom, bleed them to remove the trapped air. Never bleed your radiator when the heating is on, and use a cloth to catch any water. You should bleed your radiators a couple of times a year.
  2. Don’t block radiators with heavy curtains, laundry or anything else, as this stops the heat from reaching the room. Radiator foil can be used behind solid panel radiators to bounce the heat back into the room.
  3. Use thermostatic radiator valves to control the heat in individual rooms, so you don’t heat rooms that are not in use.
  4. Use our BTU calculator when planning to replace radiators. This will tell you the type of radiator you need to achieve the required heat output.

Speaking of replacing radiators, take a look at our beautiful vertical radiators from the K-Rad range. Whether it’s a traditional or decorative radiator you’re after, you can be sure there’s something to suit your taste and needs.

Electric Radiators

Electric heating might conjure images of unsightly 1970’s portable heaters. That is certainly no longer the case. As aesthetically pleasing as they are functional, electric radiators are infinitely more environmentally friendly than gas central heating. There are zero emissions, so they’re clean as well as quiet. There’s no risk of carbon monoxide poisoning and there’s no carbon dioxide either. Take a look at our beautiful electric radiators below.

How to choose radiator valves online

So maybe you have purchased your radiator already or just wondering which valves to get. I have found with many of my customers this can be blown up to be a big deal or task when it really is very simple and down to a few choices in which are explained below.

So let’s get the technical side over with first. Are you asking yourself questions like the ones below?

Which valves do I need my radiator is this model?

Do I need thermostatic or manual?

Which will look the best?

How should I fit them?

So lets iron out some of your possible concerns with any radiator your choice of valve will fall into this handy guide which will tell you which orientation or style of valves you will need to complete your radiator installation.

Valve guide – you will find our valve guide handy presented in each product in the product tabs section.

What valves do i need?

A simple guide to choosing correct valves for your radiator

If the pipe work is coming out of the floor and the radiator has side connections you will need a set of Angled Valves.

If the pipe work is coming out of the floor and the radiator has underneath connections you will need a set of Straight Valves.

If the pipe work is coming out of the wall and the radiator has side connections you will either need a set of Angled Valves or Corner Valves

If the pipe work is coming out of the wall and the radiator has underneath connections you will either need a set of Angled Valves or Corner Valves

If you have any questions about valves or your radiator you can speak to us by using the Live Chat blue icon or call us on 0800 009 6145 9am-8pm 7 days a week

Your result will fall into one of the 3 categories being angled, straight or corner with the most important being angled or straight as corner is not necessary and can be considered an aesthetic look.

Style and colour

You may prefer to match your valve to the colour of your radiator we have many options of colour and finish or have contrasting colours for example black radiator will match with chrome valves.

Functionality Manual or Thermostatic

Manual valves are great for rooms near the home thermostat or bathrooms or en-suites or shower rooms as they are effectively a tap style control and not offer fixed temp like a thermostatic or (TRVs) thermostatic radiator valve we would recommend putting the TRV style valve on every radiator besides the above recommendations not to be placed near house thermostat.

50mm Central connection valves

These are great to finish your installation with style in mind many radiators have the 50mm central connection fitted this offers a neatly fitted unit where the connections are close together (50mm apart) like the one pictured below.

We understand that buying designer radiators online and the valves to match can be quite daunting to a novice we would recommend you seek advice of a plumber for installation as a rule all of our radiators come with brackets and fixings needed to install or mount the rad but the valves for central heating installations are sold separately. Valves are an essential part of a central heating installation so make sure you arrange some or get your plumber to organise.

Why Should I Buy A Vertical Radiator?

Both practical and aesthetically pleasing, designer vertical radiators are very much in demand at the moment. Here, we will cover the reasons you should invest in one for your home.

Aesthetics

Vertical radiators cater beautifully to the designer radiator market, with many customers being impressed by their striking designs, which can be either grand or minimalist. Materials such as anthracite and mirrors give many of these designs a unique edge, perfect for those who like a stylish interior.

Space

A designer vertical radiator is an extremely practical investment to bring to your home. With space being a major concern for many people, no one wants to take up valuable room with heating appliances. Vertical radiators make the most of height rather than width, putting awkward areas of wall space to their best use.

Heating

One of the best things about vertical radiators is that they usually have a higher BTU output than more their horizontal counterparts, as many are designer brands. BTU output is the unit in which radiator efficiency is measured. The heat output is determined mostly by the material from which the radiator is made. Vertical aluminium radiators, for instance, heat up and cool down much faster than cast iron radiators. Always use our handy BTU calculator to work out whether the radiator is right for you and your property.

Installing your vertical radiator

It’s always sensible to hire a plumber to install your radiators. It may seem like an easy job for some, but tall and large vertical radiators especially will require some help with installation.

Furniture and your vertical radiator

Ensure that there is nothing blocking your vertical radiator for optimum heat output. It may be tempting to place it behind a sofa, but this will seriously block the heat from reaching the room. When installing your vertical radiator, ensure it has plenty of space to breathe.

Kitchen radiators

Kitchens often have little spare wall space and often need an extra accessory to act as a focus in the room. Being both slim in width and visually pleasing, the vertical radiator really comes in useful here.

Bathroom radiators

Again, bathrooms often have limited wall space. Fluctuating temperatures, combined with the need for extra storage space, mean that vertical radiators are often an ideal option. Columned vertical radiators can double up as heated towel rails. Centrally heated and electric vertical radiators are all sold here at PoshRads, with dual fuel conversion kits also available.

If you’ve decided to purchase a vertical radiator for your home, you may feel a bit overwhelmed by the sheer volume of options on the market. We’ve put together a list of our top five favourite vertical radiators. These stylish designs have been hand-picked by us due to their style, efficiency and value.

What’s The Best Radiator Material?

Most radiators are made from one of four different materials: mild steel, cast iron, stainless steel or aluminium. What a radiator is made from affects how quickly it heats and cools.  In this guide, we’ll walk you through the pros and cons of the different materials. When you’re done deciding, be sure to buy your radiator online here at PoshRads for superior quality and great savings.

Mild Steel

By far the most common, most of the radiators that you have ever seen will have been made from mild steel.  This is largely because they are cheap to produce and cheap to buy. The major downside of mild steel radiators is that they can be liable to rust from the inside, and therefore typically have shorter guarantees than radiators made from other materials. However, if you regularly get your boiler serviced and add an inhibitor to the system, this should prevent rust from forming.  Make sure you do this and you can expect a mild steel radiator to last for a lifetime.

4 Columns Laser Klassic Horizontal Tubular Steel

£186.00 – £389.95

In a range of no less than twelve sizes, this tubular mild steel radiator comes in a calming, classic cream, making your room homely and warm.

Cast Iron

Cast iron was extremely prior to more modern radiator materials.  It looks beautiful, but does tend to take a while to heat up and cool down again. If the Victorian look is what you’re after, but you don’t fancy cast iron for this reason, then stainless steel versions of old cast iron designs are available here at PoshRads.

Terma Plain 2 Cast Iron Radiator

£693.42 – £1,287.78

Gorgeous, isn’t it?  It is produced in Europe with pristine detailing and uncompromising casting precision, with superior craftsmanship and attention to detail.  I really love this old-fashioned look.

Stainless Steel

Stainless steel doesn’t rust from the inside like mild steel can, and stays warm for long after you turn off the heating. However, not all stainless steel is created equal, so make sure you buy your radiator online from PoshRads to be sure you’re getting the best quality.

Florida

£283.14 – £617.71

The Florida is one of the top horizontal radiators online here at PoshRads.  With superb stainless steel finishing and a fairly traditional design, we can see why.

Aluminium

Whilst aluminium is technically the best material, it’s also more costly than the others, although it’s great for long term savings.  If you’re looking to save money in the short term when buying your radiator online, another material might be better for you.

Aluminium is a superconductor, meaning the moment you turn it on it immediately starts to heat your home. It also cools immediately so achieving the perfect temperature is easy. They’re also lightweight and easy to install (so lower installation fees). The efficiency of aluminium radiators means that you can heat the same sized room with a much smaller radiator, or one radiator instead of two or three.

Terma Camber Electric

£330.72 – £375.96

This electric radiator is available in four colours, and it can be controlled from your smart phone, so you can control your heating from anywhere!

To take a look at any of these radiators, just click on the links next to the pictures.  You will find all the information you need to help make a decision, such as sizes, colours and BTU ratings.

We also have a vast range of vertical radiators online, if you need to save space.  All of our radiators can be delivered direct to your door, making PoshRads a great place to buy radiators online.  Happy heating!

Budgeting for home improvements

How to Stick to a Budget during Home Improvements

We are in the depths of Summer right now, and home improvements are taking over! Have you got the bug, too? It’s a great time to be getting stuck into renovating rooms of your home, ready to enjoy during the cosiness of Autumn and Winter. But as with any design project, the costs can quickly add up and end up more expensive than you initially planned for. Being worried about the financial implications of your projects can really put a dampener on what should be an exciting, creative experience, so we thought we’d bring this topic into focus this week on the blog.

So how can you make sure you come in on or under budget when turning your dream decor plans into a reality? Here are our top 3 tips…

  1. Re-purpose

Re-purpose, reuse, and recycle! You may see that tired old sideboard in your hallway as way past its prime, but have you considered giving it a lick of paint and new handles? Maybe those framed pieces of art in your bedroom are looking a little out-of-date and you’re tempted to bin them and buy new ones… but actually new frames are all that is needed, and perhaps some re-positioning. Using a little imagination can go a long way, especially when you’re being careful to stick to a certain budget and get the most out of what you already have.

  1. Maximise your space

It can feel very difficult to revamp a smaller space, as your options can seem more limited. But there are a range of space-saving hacks you can utilise to help you get the most out of even the smallest spaces in your home. Being clever with storage solutions can not only save you space but money, too.

Floor-to-ceiling space is something that is massively overlooked, yet has huge potential to serve a great purpose when carrying out your home design projects. One of our favourite ways to make the most of this space is by installing vertical radiators, particularly our Boston range from our K-Rad selection. The vertical Boston models in chrome, anthracite and white are among some of our bestsellers this Summer, and it’s very easy to see why! They can easily complement any decor style, and are super affordable. A definite winner for budget-conscious buyers.

  1. Stick to a design that will last

Be careful to make the right choice when it comes to colour and style choose something that will be in trend today and keep in theme to your personal taste for years to come.

Have a browse of our full range of designer rads online at poshrads.co.uk. We are on the end of the phone daily between 10am and 8pm on freephone 0800 009 6145 if you’d like to chat through options with a friendly adviser from our team!

Final Home Interior Touches

The Final Touches to your Summer Home Improvement Projects

If you’re anything like us, Spring will have filled you with the motivation to give your home a bit (or a lot) of TLC. Then Summer burst through our doors and windows, and that motivation turned plans into actions!

There’s probably no better time of the year to get elbows-deep in home improvements than when the sun is shining, and from speaking to you guys – our lovely customers – we have seen the proof. Lots of you are in the midst of home renovation season, so this week’s blog post will focus on how you can neatly wrap up your summer building projects by paying attention to the seemingly little details. The final touches can’t be ignored when it comes to something as important as giving your home a revamp.

So what finishing touches are we talking about here? Let’s go through our top 3…

  1. Greenery

Bringing part of the outdoors inside is a great idea when it comes to interior design, regardless of the room you are revamping. Kitchens, living areas, bedrooms and even bathrooms can look beautifully enhanced with a bit of greenery! If you’re not particularly green-thumbed, there are tonnes of artificial flowers and foliage options on the home decor market nowadays, too. The quality can be hit or miss though, which can easily make or break a room, so be sure to shop around and invest in the best you can afford – they are made to last, after all!

  1. Metals

Photo frames, door handles, light fittings, sockets… have you been consistent with your metal finish of choice in the rooms you’ve worked on? It’s a good idea to have these accents matching so that your room’s decor flows together nicely. Don’t forget to match your radiator valves, too! We have a range of different metal finishes and styles available to match all sorts of designer radiators from our selection, so there’s no need for any mis-match there.

  1.  Heating

Well, we couldn’t go through a list of finishing touches without mentioning heating, could we?! If you’re doing quite a big building project, like an extension or total home renovation, you’ll have probably thought about your heating options quite early on. But if you haven’t, designer radiators are now so easy to install and affordable to purchase that you can definitely opt for a more stylish option than standard radiators. It would be a shame to spend so much time, money and effort on a building project just to finish it off with traditional radiators that lack the wow-factor. There’s no need to treat your home’s heating as an afterthought, or buy those wooden cover-up shelves – designer rads are more accessible than ever!

Have a browse of our full range of designer rads online at poshrads.co.uk. We are on the end of the phone daily between 10am and 8pm on freephone 0800 009 6145 if you’d like to chat through options with a friendly adviser from our team!
